OIAPAC is a non-partisan organization and supports candidates for federal office from all political parties.
The OIAPAC Board makes decisions about candidate contributions based on the following criteria:
- Voting Record on issues identified in the OIA Policy Agenda
- Membership on congressional committees key to the outdoor industry
- Concentration of OIA member companies in candidates' congressional districts/state
