Outdoor Industry and American Jobs
Trade policy often focuses on the sourcing and manufacturing – where and how a product is made – but when you consider the entire value chain of an outdoor product, you see that there are good paying, American jobs across the entire outdoor industry. Whether a company manufacturers their product in the United States or utilizes a global value chain to bring their products to retail markets, there are senior executives, product developers, transportation and logistics staff, salespeople, marketers, merchandisers, product testers, and customer service representatives, more than 6.1 million American jobs in all that are created and supported by the outdoor industry.
